Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge

Reminded me of that scene from 'Temple of Doom'. I couldn't help but bounce the bridge and freak everyone out :)

That's Chad's son, Isaiah. He's an awesome kid and very curious about Oz. Cool and wise beyond his years.

The wind changed and I'm stuck like this now.

Chad with a coffee and his cell phone. Ahh, getting back to nature is so refreshing :)

We're buds... do the kids still use that term?

Monkeying around.

Kitsilano beach

Vancouver's Bondi equivelant I guess. Note the logs all over the beach for resting on.

This beach is minutes from the city. The mountains make a great back-drop.

Isaiah (Chad's 15 year old son), Chad and Nicole.

Oh good god!!! I need a gym and tanning booth... STAT!

Museum of Anthropology

Aboriginal totems and Haida Art

The totems have so much character. I love them.

A cool sculpture called “The Raven and The First Men” by Bill Ried

The masks were my favourites. Evil looking things.

God I love how twisted these designs were. Very inspirational!

Whistler

View of Whistler mountain from the village. You can see the ski runs cut into the trees. So cool!

Lost Lake where the girls and I went to escape the 36 degree heat.

All the beautiful people were at the lake that day. This is Nicole, Alison and Jen.

Drinking games in the hotel that night. It's a tough life :)

Flags at the top of Whistler. Snow! Amazing.

I really like the Canadian flag. So friendly. Not the bullet-ridden military flag of the States.

View from the top of Whistler. Need I say more? People were still going glacier skiing/boarding on those mountains.

Playing in the snow on a chilly 35 degree day. Trippy!

Another view from the top. People just gravitate to the snow covered patches.

Nic having a coffe at the massive cafe/restaurant at the peak.

A Canadian Aboriginal (First Nations People) symbol. This is an inukshuk, meaning 'image of a man's spirit'.

Looking back at the cafe/restaurant at Whistler's peak.

Can't get enough of that view!

One of the views on the drive back from Whistler. It easily rivals the Great Ocean Road drive back home in Victoria.

Road Trip - part 4

Mountains near our camp-site around Banff.

More mountains near our camp-site around Banff.

The lake at our Banff camp-site.

Random mountain shot while driving. I like the mountains, can you tell?

Just us driving...well Nicole was driving.

The glaciers at the Columbian Ice Fields. Remember, this is the middle of summer. Freaky.

An Elk crossing the road in front of our car. We stopped to shoot ... er, I mean photograph it.

We followed the Elk into the woods. They could kill me if they wanted too. I kept my distance.

Road Trip - part 3 (Lake Louise)

Me at Lake Louise. Cool emerald grren colour innit?

Lake Louise

Alison and Nicole at, you guessed it, Lake Louise. Note the big-ass hotel in the background.

The crew, just posing and takin' in the view.

The lobby of that big-ass hotel. Yikes!

Deer heads on the wall, yup it's North America :)

Moraine Lake just near Lake Louise. Smaller but more intensely emerald.

Road Trip - part 2 (Calgary)

Goofing with Alison in Calgary (about 1000 kms or so east of Vancouver)

Nicole and Chad moments later.

Calgary by night. Quite a nice city actually but very cowboy/backward re racism, gay rights etc.

The Calgary Stampede front gates. We arrived just in time for the days closure. So to the pub we went :)

Road Trip - part 1

Waiting to go in Nic's parents' Volvo. What a ridiculous pose this is... sheesh!

Chad and Alison in the back seat. Space was tight.

Some kind of rocky place we found on a washroom break.

The 'Husky' chain of gas stations have huge flags out front. O Canada!

Christina Lake. I climbed that rock wall, mostly to stay dry. What a rush!!

Breakfast at Christina Lake. Mmmmm, coffee, eggs and pancakes :)

A rare occasion where Nicole actually beat Alison in a fight... for a while anyway :)

Canada has more lakes than I ever expected. We found this at a random stop.
